What is TISAX®?
TISAX® (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) is an information security assessment standard developed by the automotive industry and based on ISO/IEC 27001. It was initiated by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) to enable a uniform safety assessment along the supply chain. At e.lective, we support companies in understanding and successfully implementing the requirements of TISAX®. Achieving certification according to TISAX® is not only relevant for automotive manufacturers, but also for suppliers, service providers and all other partners who have access to sensitive data, such as prototypes, development projects or personal data.
How do I get TISAX® certification?
To obtain TISAX® certification, companies in the automotive industry that work with confidential information must go through certain steps. The process first includes registration, followed by self-assessment, selection of a testing service provider, conducting the audit and finally receiving the TISAX® label, which is valid for three years. At e.lective, we offer comprehensive support:
- Registration: We support you as early as the registration on the ENX platform, which is a prerequisite for the certification process.
- Self: Our experts will guide you through an internal self-assessment to determine your current security posture and identify vulnerabilities.
- Choosing a testing service provider: We advise you on the choice of an accredited testing service provider to carry out the audit.
- Audit: We prepare you for the audit, which is carried out by the selected testing service provider. This includes auditing your information security measures.
- Receipt of the TISAX® label: After successful completion of the audit, you will receive the label, which in turn is valid for three years.

As a micro-enterprise, do I need certification according to TISAX®?
Even as a micro-enterprise, you are obliged to meet the same requirements and standards for successful certification according to TISAX®. The test is carried out by independent, accredited testing service providers authorised by the ENX Association. How long does it take to prepare for the audit for TISAX® certification?
The duration of the preparation depends on both the size of the company and the current state of information security. Depending on the situation, the preparation can take several months.
